Dark Void Trailer Looks Into the Void

Capcom Breaks its Word After Only Two Days

by Sean

All right Capcom, I'm just about done with you. On Tuesday, I got an email from the publisher announcing that the trailer for Dark Void that was attached would be the "Final Cinematic" one. At the time, I was more worked up about the fact that yet another video had come out for the game without featuring Brad Pitt, and didn't really delve too deeply into the fact that the publisher would claim that a trailer released in the first week of December would be the final one for a game that's scheduled to come out in the third week of January. Less than 48 hours later, I come to find yet another message in my inbox, again from Capcom, and again with a Dark Void video attachment. Of course there's no explanation as to how exactly this doesn't qualify as a cinematic trailer, especially since a lot of the footage has been used in previous sneak peeks of the game. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for being so trusting.

Entitled simply "The Void", this trailer ostensibly is meant to focus on the game's various environments. Anyway, take a look at what in no way should be expected to be the game's final trailer:

From the videos, Dark Void looks like it could be a pretty good shooter. My lingering worries of repetitiveness and overuse of the Rocketeer-style jet pack remain, but it may still be a good one. If only Capcom could get its shit together and figure out how many more trailers they want to release, it would make my life that much easier.

Wasn't that excited for this game when I saw it in my Gameinformer, but after following it these past few months my interest is growing.
