Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce to Get a Demo Tomorrow
New Trailer Shows Off Multiplayer, Monsters

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, KOEI's upcoming handheld slash-em-up game, will be getting a playable demo with tomorrow's PlayStation Store update. Producer Kenichi Ogasawara announced the demo this morning on the PlayStation Blog, and also released the above trailer for the game. The announcement and the trailer go out of their way to point out that the focus of Strikeforce will be on co-op multiplayer, marking the first time a Dynasty Warriors title has supported any kind of multiplayer battles.
Ogasawara talks about how his team were unsure about how to bring multiplayer to the franchise, while still maintaining the same look and feel that fans of the games have come to love. And they decided that the best way to do this: add monsters. He explains the reason why:
"[The] idea behind adding monsters (like Bi Xie, the giant stone tiger you’ll see at the Battle of Hu Lao Gate) is that we wanted players to have the same reaction that actual warriors would have when going up against massive fortresses. We really brainstormed. In the end it was decided that visually Bi Xie would be the best way to portray the frightening nature of the Hu Lao Gate (which in Chinese translates to “Tiger Cage” Gate)."
There you have it. Monsters were added so that the game would feel more realistic. Um... sure... okay. I'll buy that. Why not? The demo will feature the full multiplayer support, and a few of the game's "strongest warriors". I'll certainly be downloading it tomorrow. How about you?
