The annual E3 brouhaha is just about to get into full swing, sure to bring enough first looks, surprise announcements, and sweaty nerds to fill an auditorium (or at least a convention center). There's so much to see and do that it might be easy for some things to slip past. Of course, it's always much easier for a story to slip by our notice when the company showing the game is giving someone else an exclusive look.
Case in point: Gamespot got a chance to talk to some of the team at Plastic Wax, who are developing the upcoming sequel in the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War RTS series. Now, a demo of Dawn of War II will be playable on the when the E3 floor opens, but it never hurts to get a few hours head-start on everyone else. And to that end, Gamespot has put up the following trailer for DoW2.
UPDATE: The Gamespot trailer embed is not working. Click here to watch it. Here's an older one from GameTrailers to tide you over:
According to the Johnny Elbert, the game's lead designer, in the trailer you "[saw] more of the brutal combat you saw in the original trailer. The trailer also introduces the Eldar, the next playable faction that will be featured in Dawn of War II."
Having recently fallen back in love with the RTS genre, thanks in large part to Civilization Revolution and a beta I am not at liberty to disclose, this trailer elicited a fair amount of drool factor. I think my favorite moment was when the chick got a face full of flamethrower. Keep your eyes to Gamervision for more Dawn of War II coverage!
