It's been almost six years since the last Golden Sun game hit the stores. Although the series has been almost universally renowned as one of the better handheld RPGs of its generation, you would be forgiven if you thought Nintendo had given up on the franchise. But during today's press conference, we got word that Golden Sun DS would soon be invading our hands.

Looking to capture much of the fun and allure of the original games, Golden Sun DS made its world debut today after a brief intro from Nintendo's resident tall man, Reggie Fil-Amis.

Apart from the trailer, Nintendo didn't give a whole lot of other details for Golden Sun DS. But fans of the series know that not much else would really be needed for a game like this. Although, as a minor bonus, there are a handful of screenshots. You can see them here:
