E3 09: *UPDATE* Gran Turismo Unveiled for PSP

During their press conference today, Sony managed to drop a few unexpected bombs in our laps. One of the surprises came in the form of a new handheld version of the international best-selling race franchise Gran Turismo.
GT has long been a Sony console favorite, and now the fun is coming to the PSP. With over 800 cars, 30 tracks, and a graphics engine promising 60 frames per second, Gran Turismo promises an unparalleled experience. The game has several announced modes, including "Challenge Mode" in which players will be able to can progress and acquire cars through over 100 events. Arcade mode will allow for exploration of different tracks and circuits. Additionally, players can race online in Ad Hoc Mode against up to 3 others (4 total) via the PSP’s built-in ad hoc functionality. The first in the Gran Turismo series, the ability to trade and share unlocked vehicles with others online via ad hoc mode is now available. This feature is not available in any other racing game on PSP.
