EA Announces Artists for Sims 3: World Adventures

Some of Today's Hottest Singers Flex Their Simlish Chops

by Sean

The Sims, as a franchise, has never been shy about adding new content through expansion packs. Party clothes, pets, vacations, new appliances, and just about anything you can buy in real life have all been added to the various incarnations of the best-seling life simulation game. EA isn't about to stop that train just because the online area of the Sims 3 is so robust, and in November will release the game's first expansion pack, The Sims 3: World Adventures. In a press release today, they let us know some of the things we can expect from the pack, including a host of musicians who will be lending their vocal talents to the game.

LeAnn Rhymes, Nelly Furtado, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head (a band, not a decapitated freak show attraction), and more are all planning to record some of their biggest hits for The Sims 3. But wait, there's more! Since this is the world of the Sims, having these artists just contribute songs would be lame, and so, just like in The Sims 2: Seasons, the lyrics to the songs will be in Simlish, the gibberish language all Sims speak so fluently. Here are the songs you'll be hearing, and not singing along to:

  • LeAnn Rimes – “You've Ruined Me”
  • Fefe Dobson – “I Want You”
  • Katie Melua – “If the lights go out”
  • Madina Lake – “Lets Get Outta Here”
  • Manchester Orchestra – “I've Got Friends”
  • Natalie Portman's Shaved Head – “Me + Yr Daughter”
  • Esme Denters – “Outta Here”
  • Hot Chelle Rae – “Say”
  • Audrye Sessions – “Turn Me Off”
  • Metalkpretty – “Wake Up, Wake Up”
  • Evan Taubenfeld – “Pumpkin Pie”
  • Friday Night Boys – “Can't Take That Away”
  • Cassie Steele – “Summer Nights”
  • Broken Hearts Club – “Na Na Na”
  • Nelly Furtado – “Manos al Aire”
  • Pixie Lott – “Mama Do”
  • Stefanie Heinzmann – “No One (Can Ever Change My Mind)”
  • Matt & Kim – “Daylight”
  • Young Punx – “Juice and Sim”

In addition to marginally famous singers babbling, World Adventures brings new locales to the Sims 3, including France, China and Egypt. And speaking of Egypt, there's a trailer out highlighting that location, which you can watch below. World Adventures will be out on November 16th.

I don't think I have enough money to send my Sim to tall those places, I spent it all building a house by the beach.
