EA Releases Full Brütal Legend Soundtrack
Would You Be Surprised if I Told You There Was Some Metal On It?
by Sean

With all of the various thorny legal issues now a thing of the past, EA and Double Fine are once again free to get the hype machine rolling for the upcoming heavy metal adventure game Brütal Legend. To that end, a press release sent this morning gives the full soundtrack listing for the game. In addition to the ten songs previously confirmed in a YouTube video, the playlist represents a veritable hall of fame of heavy metal superstars. From Ozzy to Quiet Riot to Marilyn Manson, there is something on here for seemingly any fan of the genre.
Tim Schaffer, the game's creator, spoke on his dedication to making sure the soundtrack would be exactly what he, and gamers, wanted, "This soundtrack took years to put together as we wanted to represent every genre of Metal, and also have the perfect music for every epic moment in the game. It’s designed to be loved by Metal fans, and for those who are not, it will either convert them or make their heads explode… or both."
Although I'm not a huge metal fan, I can appreciate the awesomeness that this soundtrack represents. Chances are EA could release the playlist as a series of CDs, and it would top the charts. With over 100 songs by 75 bands, there's something here for everyone.

Only one Slayer song? Weak. Still, this list kicks ass.
some of these song choices seem... odd. rob zombie's "superbeast"? marilyn manson's "beautiful people"? i feel like both of those guys had better tunes that could have made the list.
my ears are already bleeding.
Wow!
this looks awesome. A++ for including Master Exploder.
