Echochrome DLC Detailed
It is the Game that Doesn't End, It Just Goes On and On My Friends!

Amid all the pomp and circumstance surrounding last week's release of GTA IV, it was possible to overlook the US debut of another hotly anticipated game, Sony's Echochrome. It hit the PlayStation Store last Thursday, with 56 puzzles for each the PS3 and the PSP, as well as the very very confusing "Canvas" mode which gives players custom level creation tools. Retailing for only $10 apiece, it seemed like a pretty good deal for a surprisingly addictive puzzle game.
Well today over on the PlayStation blog, Sony has announced that there will be additonal levels available for download. These new levels, which cost nothing to download, will be comprised of puzzles created by the other players using the Canvas level creator, hand-selected by the game's developers. The PlayStation blog also has a really useful and absolutely necessary tutorial on creating your own levels.
Sony is promising that there will be new levels made available "on a regular basis". The only catch is that when a new batch of puzzles becomes available, the previous downloads will expire. Still though, this seems like a really awesome model for DLC. It's like a modded open-source game, allowing for seemingly infinite levels and customization. If only they could get LittleBigPlanet working, we could see this kind of thing in action on a next-gen scale.
