ESRB Reveals Twisted Metal Coming to PSOne Classics
Just in Time for the Reboot Hype Machine!
by Sean

Twisted Metal, one of the roots of the genre-tree of vehicular combat games, will soon be added to the PlayStation Store as a PSOne Classic. This is according to the ESRB, which has rated the game as T, revealing that the classic smash-em-up will soon come to PS3 and PSP. The timing of this would make sense, as series creator David Jaffee revealed during this year's E3 that Twisted Metal will soon get an HD reboot.
As one of the longest-running Sony exclusive franchises, Twisted Metal has an incredibly loyal fanbase at its disposal, most of whom were borderline rabid over the announcement of the new game. Adding the PS1 game to the PS Store gives Sony the chance to attract a whole new generation of fans who have never known the simple pleasures of watching a demonic ice cream truck get flipped by a barrage of missiles fired from a modified Humvee. No release date has been given yet, but look for it to drop right around the release of the new PS3 title.
