Europe Gets Yakuza 3 Demo
Will Sony Drop it on North America Tonight?
by Sean

Sony updates the PlayStation Store every week, usually somewhere in the early evening for us here on the East Coast. However, European regions get a bit of a headstart on us, as the update comes through several hours earlier on that side of the Atlantic. In fact, today's update has already happened for that region, and interestingly, there is now a playable demo for Sega's upcoming action sequel. It seems odd that such a potentially large game's demo would be allowed to slip in under the radar, but rest assured that it is now available, and it went up without any press release or fanfare to announce it.
Of course the question now becomes whether or not the update for the US PS Store later today will unlock the demo for this region. With the level of anticipation for Yakuza 3, it seems unlikely that Sega or Sony would limit access solely to the Europeans, but we'll have to wait a few hours to find out. In the meantime, you can tide yourself over with this new trailer for the game, which introduces some of the major characters you'll come across. The bits that stick out to me from it are a) Tetsuo Tamashiro looks a whole hell of a lot like Bricktop from Guy Ritchie's masterpiece Snatch, and b) don't piss off Tsuyoshi Kanda- that guy will slap you silly.
