Anyone who knows me, or anything about my own personal gaming biases, knows that I have a soft spot in my heart for a good flight action game. Hell, who am I kidding? I'll play the hell out of any flight action game, regardless of the game's quality. One of the best known names in the genre is the Bandai Namco Ace Combat series. There have been a total of seven Ace games released for in-home consoles, with another three coming to various handheld devices. Today, the company unveiled a new trailer for Ace Combat: Joint Assault, a brand new game coming to the PSP. Take a look:

As an Ace fanboy, even I can't help but notice the muddy quality of the gameplay seen above, but I will point out that once the view shifts to the in-cockpit HUD, some of those issues are covered up. Unlike recent Ace Combat games, Joint Assault will take place in real world locations, including Tokyo, London and San Francisco. It will also deliver support for several different online multiplayer games, including eight player versus and four player co-op campaign modes. The game's press release lists a summer release date for European and Asian regions, but omits any mention for North America. I, for one, have got my fingers crossed.
