First Madden Trailer Goes Inside the Huddle
Have You Ever Wondered How Drew Brees Sees the World? Wonder No More.

What you see above is the first trailer for Madden NFL 11. While it doesn't show any real gameplay footage, we do get a good look at Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium, as well as the current NFL champs, the New Orleans Saints. EA Sports seems to be rather intent on highlighting the realistic qualities of this year's iteration, as we get a nice extended view of the Saints' entrance onto the field, as well as the offense setting up a pass play against a blitzing Bucs defense. Oh, there's also some fairly awful music. It's pretty intense.
I almost question the need of EA to even continue making ads for Madden games. I mean, I get it, they keep adding new wrinkles to the gameplay, and each year brings a series of updates and improvements. But at this point, is there really anyone who doesn't know what Madden looks like? Is there still a demographic that hasn't decided whether or not to buy the game? We'll never see it happen, but I do wonder how many millions of copies the game would sell with absolutely no marketing. It would probably still make the top ten every year.
