First Street Fighter IV iPhone Details Released
Eight Characters Named, Price Point Listed

Capcom's announcement of one of the most unnatural pairings in a long time, Street Fighter IV on the Apple iPhone, has caused more than a few furrowed brows and scratched heads. Sure, the handheld devices are well known for their graphical output, but there are few things more ill-suited for one another than a game that depends heavily on buttons and joystick combos and a console that is strictly touch-screen. Fight fans the world over couldn't help but wonder if this particular port would be anything other than another unnecessary app on a device that really didn't need another one. The developer stopped by the offices of GamePro and released some details about the game, including the following gameplay video:
Although the game looks great, one can't help but notice how often the action on-screen is obscured by the hands of the person playing the game. I will admit that the controls look to be more intuitive and responsive than I had expected them to, but honestly, great looking gameplay will only get you so far if almost half of the screen is covered up by your hands. Not to mention the fact that the person who is playing in the above video looks to have fingers that tend more to the slender side. I can't imagine what that video would have looked like if the person playing had had some meatier digits.
In addition to the gameplay video, Capcom also unveiled the eight characters that will be playable in the game. Those are: classic characters Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and the newly introduced Abel. If you were waiting to find out how much the game would cost before making the purchase decision, you should know that iPhone SF4 will come with a $9.99 price tag. As far as games on the App Store go, that's a bit steep, especially since there will only be eight characters. So for today, I'm still saying that I'm not buying this game. But, again, ask me again in a month.

Pretty rough looking. Not going to be getting it anytime soon, especially for $10
Not shocking that Zangief was left out. Pulling off a 360 degree joystick rotation without an actual joystick would be just short of impossible.
