Last week's rumors about the demise of Timesplitters and Haze developer Free Radical may have been greatly exaggerated. In the wake of the company's doors being locked and workers being denied entry to the offices, Free Radical has been placed in "administration" (a fancy way of saying another company has taken over the day-to-day running of the company), and is being run by a company called ReSolve. Edge is quoting a ReSolve employee who has stated that there has been "significant interest" shown in an outright buyout of Free Radical.

No specific companies are named as being the ones who have showed the interest, but there is some mention of motives. The ReSolve employee believes that the potential buyer may be interested in reviving unnamed projects that Free Radical had been working on when the doors were shut. Again, no specifics are given, but as most people assume that Free Radical had been working on both a Star Wars: Battlefront title and a new Timesplitters, they seem to be the two games most often brought up.

There also seems to be a glimmer of hope for Free Radicals employees who thought their jobs were in jeopardy. Edge goes on to point out that the buyer, whomever it ends up being, is interested in "the transfer of any employees who are left in the company". Although the same story points out that up to 100 people have already resigned from the troubled company, so maybe the buyer isn't being totally charitable. Stay tuned!
