Gamervision to Host Rockband Tournament
Rock Out for a Good Cause
by Sean
At the beginning of the summer, Gamervision teamed up with the folks at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to put together a Guitar Hero II Tournament. The night was such a success that we decided that we needed more, a lot more.
Today we are proud to announce Gamervision's first ever Rockband tournament, "The Battle of the Rockbands".

It's all going down on the 29th of December from 7-10:30pm at Siren Records in Doylestown. Admission will be $5.00 for individuals, or $15.00 for bands wanting to compete. Please note that if you wish to enter as a band, you must fill all four instruments (drums, guitar, bass, vocals).
Prizes will be raffled all night, including our Grand Prize: a Rockband Bundle for the Xbox 360. Also, the top-performing band (as decided by the audience) will receive a special award for their efforts.
All proceeds for the evening will go to Child's Play, a charity dedicated to providing toys and games to children's hospitals.
So if you're close-by, stop on by Siren Records on the 29th and help us rock out!

So... how does the competition work? My roommate can do expert on guitar, I'm up to either top level medium or low tier hard on drums, we could get a medium singer and an expert bassist. So what are the rules man? We want in!
Also, how many songs must each band do and will there be beer?
Gamervision should do this in Houston too! Not just Doylestown.
By the way, if anybody in the area is a good at Bass, we are having trouble filling that position. We've got drums, guitar, and vocals nailed down. Check out my profile and shoot me an e-mail if interested.
Bands will go head-to-head in single-elimination until a winner emerges. The way we'll handle differing skill levels is by having the audience vote. So is it important how well you play the song? Yes. Is it important to post a high score? Probably. But more important will be the way in which you win over the crowd. Band uniforms, totally "owning" the stage, and getting people pumped will be highly valued.
Cool, the bands pick the songs for each round? Or is it the same song for both bands?
Well, my odds of being in a band there are shakey. Roommate doesn't want to do it anymore. Talking to some friends though. I'll be there either way.
I had a good time. Plus I won a game and a T-shirt. HOT.
