Atari's upcoming Ghostbusters: The Video Game has awakened the child inside of me, and if it hasn't done the same for you, chances are you have a black soul and a heart the shape and consistency of burning coal. Seriously, how could you not be excited by the prospect of a fully licensed, completely original Ghostbusters IP, especially one that's coming in with your choice of full HD support, or waggle-friendly motion controls? Add in one Alyssa Milano, and you've got all the makings of a fun and nostalgia filled gaming experience. Besides, how could a game licenesed from a film possibly miss?

Adding more glee to the reborn Sean-child is the new trailer out of Atari, entitled "Split Up". It opens with one of my favorite quotes from the first Ghostbusters (Bill Murray is the man) and goes on to show off the destrcutive capabilities of a working proton pack. Take a look:

I guess I hadn't thought a whole lot about it when I was younger, but I'm now realizing that one of my life's biggest needs is a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man boss fight. And the more I see of the giant gooey fellow, the more I think that that one fight alone will be worth the purchase price.

Can anyone out there give me any reason why I shouldn't be overjoyed at the prospect of this game? June 16th can't get here fast enough!
