God of War III Demo Will Ship With District 9 Blu-Ray
An Odd Blend of the Worlds of Film and Games
by Sean

Let's say you really want to try the demo for God of War III, but you've already played the first two games so much that the idea of buying the God of War Collection seems like the biggest waste of money since HarperCollins gave Sarah Palin a $1.25 million advance on her memoirs. Let's also say that you really want to own Neill Blomkamp's directorial debut District 9 on Blu-Ray. Well Sony has good news for you, as it's been learned that the demo will be included along with the film when it releases on December 29th.
The two-for-one has been set at $39.99, which seems a bit steep for a movie that only comes with a demo, especially considering it isn't even a special edition. I'm not exactly sure why Sony chose this particular pairing for its first demo/Blu-Ray combination, but for people who didn't want to spend the money on the God of War Collection, it's a decent deal. Plus, District 9 was more than a halfway decent movie, so it's almost like buying the movie gets you a free gift. Personally, I prefer when developers make demos available for download at no cost, but if the Collection and District 9 each sell well enough, I'm going to guess that we may see free demos start to fall by the wayside.
