Goldeneye Wii Multiplayer Game Modes Introduced
Paintball Makes a Triumphant Return!
by Sean
I might be the only person who is genuinely excited for Activision's rebooted Goldeneye 007 coming to the Wii this November. Sure, there is a loyal fanbase that has been clamoring for years for the classic FPS to come to the current console generation, but most of them were hoping for a 360 or PS3 porting, allowing for online multiplayer. Instead, we're stuck with Wii and DS exclusivity, meaning that the four-players supported by the game will once again have to share local screentime, as well as playing in SD graphics. But for me, even though there are easily dozens of better shooters on the market, the chance to relive the nostalgia of 007 with a new protagonist is cause for at least some small level of enthusiasm.Today Activision dropped a new video for the game in my inbox, and I just had to share it with all of you. In it, we get to see the various multiplayer modes that will be playable. The classic Melee Only mode returns, as well as Paintball shots. We also get to see a couple of modes known as Singularity and Nick Nack, which appear to be one-shot kills and head to head deathmatch, respectively. A cool feature being introduced this time around allows each specific game mode to be turned on or off for each match. According to the trailer, this means that there will be as many as 200 different permutations for games that can be played. The game will be available in early November. Is anyone else coming over to the excited side?
