Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Update Brings New Cars
Be the First to Drive a Completely New Concept Car
by Sean
Remember way back in April when Sony released the latest installment in the second best-selling race franchise of all time? Of course you do! Gran Turismo 5: Prologue dropped to mixed acclaim; some saying that it was a high def racing marvel, while others complained that it was little more than an over-priced demo. I personally thought it was awesome, although admittedly, I haven't had it in my gaming rotation for quite some time. Now it looks like there may be a reason to do so.
Sony announced this morning an update to GT5P that includes three new unlockable cars from Ferrari, Lotus and Citroen. A Ferrari and a Lotus would be fairly awesome content on their own, but the Citroen is the real standout in this trio. It's called the "GT by Citroen", and is a concept vehicle that was the result of a collaboration between Citroen and Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo's creator). The world got its first ever look at the GT by Citroen yesterday at the Paris Auto Show, and today you'll be able to get behind the wheel of it.
It would seem, though, that luxury like that doesn't come cheap. The GT by Citroen is available for 1 Million credits; the Ferrari California will go for 300,000 credits the Lotus Evora for 100,000.
The update also brings some changes to gameplay, including a revised penalty system, rolling starts on Drift Trial races, improved wireless controller responsiveness and improved sound balance.
Here's some screens of the new cars:
