GTA Chinatown Wars PSP Trailer
The Handheld Smash Hit Gets Even More Handhelder
by Sean

GTA: Chinatown Wars was supposed to be a proving ground for mature content on Nintendo's handheld. Sadly, much like attempts to bring mature games to pretty much any Nintendo console, the sales numbers have failed to match the expectations in spite of a ton of critical acclaim. So perhaps in an attempt to reach a market that already has a larger adoption base for games that skew older, Rockstar is porting Chinatown Wars to the PSP later this month. It also doesn't hurt that the first DS GTA game is the PSP's third. A new trailer today shows off how the game will look, and you know you want to see it:
I don't know what it is about the PSP that makes developers think that they have to show the game's visuals on the console's screen in every trailer. Like, ok, we get it, we know that the game isn't going to be running at 1080i, and don't really need the constant reminder that we're going to be playing it on a small screen. It has the effect of taking an already low quality video and shrinking it down even further. That said, Chinatown Wars is so much fun that there's not really any way to show it off without making it look awesome. Look for it on the the 20th.

"I don't know what it is about the PSP that makes developers think that they have to show the game's visuals on the console's screen in every trailer"
definitely cliche. zzzz.
Good trailer, but yeah, that's an awful move. I think it's so people don't think it's for another console?
