Above you can see Ubisoft's launch trailer for the upcoming flight combat action sequel H.A.W.X. 2. While it doesn't show off anything revolutionary, were you really expecting it to? First of all, it's a Tom Clancy game, so you know you'll see maps with bright laser points on them, along with generals, random enlisted men standing around the deck of an aircraft carrier, you know, the usual. Secondly, it's flight combat, so you know you'll see MIGs taking turns at impossible speeds, more Gs being pushed than at the latest T. Pain concert, and explosions, explosions, explosions.

Actually, if you look closely, you can see a few wrinkles that make the sequel marginally different from the first iteration. There's the mid-air refueling mission, which as anyone who has spent time on the demo knows, is a needlessly long and complicated gameplay aspect (hopefully it will be a bit more streamlined in the finished game). As well, you can see that the H.A.W.X.'s own aircraft carrier comes under attack at one point, which would be a first for the series. And at one point you can clearly see that there will be an AC-130 gunship mission, which apparently you are now required to put in any war game set in modern times. Regardless, it looks good enough for this fan of the genre, and I'm eagerly awaiting the game's release next week.
