Here's that DJ Hero Track List You've Been Dying to See

93 Mixes Sure to Set You Spinning

by Sean

Activision has unveiled the full list of mash-up tracks that will be playable in the upcoming DJ Hero. The game will be shipping with a total of 93 tracks, which is an impressive number for a rhythm game (by way of comparison, The Beatles: Rock Band only came with 45 songs, and Guitar Hero 5 had 85). Some of the tracks, like those from Daft Punk and Grandmaster Flash, were previously announced. But this marks the first time we've seen all the various combinations that will hopefully make DJ Hero a fun gameplay experience.

As per usual with game soundtrack articles, I find myself nodding in recognition at some of the names, and scratching my head in confusion at some of the others. Although in honesty, as a casual fan of hip hop and DJ culture, there are far more acts I know than those I don't. You'd have to have been born in a cave on the moon to have not heard of Beastie Boys, Tears for Fears, or Public Enemy. But I think you'll be excused if Noisia, Paul van Dyk, and Kid Cudi have somehow slipped past you.

Without the possibility of a demo (due to the game's peripheral), it's hard to say how these songs will play. I mean there are a lot of recognizable songs being blended together here, but whether or not they'll be fun to play or listen to remains to be seen.
