Innovations - CES Design & Engineering Showcase Awards
And the Winners in Gaming Are...
by Sean
Today is the last day of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. And with the CES train finally pulling into the station, this seems like as good a time as any to look back at the show's highlights.
Since 1989, the Consumer Electronics Association (the sponsor of CES) has awarded The Innovations and Design and Engineering Awards to the shows' most outstanding developments in engineering and design. A panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers, and trade press look carefully at all of the gadgets, gizmos, and consumer electronics goods shown during the weeklong trade show and pick the best in dozens of categories. Awards are given in categories like home theater speakers, integrated home systems, audio accessories, and of course, gaming.
And so, without futher ado, I present the 2008 Innovations Award Winners for Electronic Gaming. All of the descriptions of the products are taken directly from the awards themselves. (Click on the images for high-rez versions)

Comments
That iWear hmd isn't worth it. I used to have a similiar model and I returned it the next day. Somehow I thought that head mounted displays were cooler but I guess the tech just isn't there yet.
It's nice to see all the latest gadgets without having to fly all the way to Vegas. Great job Gamervision.
