Well folks, we've got less than a week to go before we find out if Visceral Games has been able to match the aweseomeness that was Dead Space with the game's sequel. With not a lot of time left to build on the hype that's already been going for Dead Space 2, the developer has released a brand new trailer/developer diary, entitled "Through the Eyes of the Necromorph", highlighting the game's mulitplayer aspect, entitled Outbreak mode. You can watch below, although you should be warned, Necromorphs can be kind of gross.
This marks (at least to my memory) the first time we've been shown the "Necro-vision" feature, which allows the various Necromorph types to see human characters anywhere on screen, including behind barriers and through walls. And, as you can see, all of the various Necromorph types are on display, and their various strengths are broken down. You've got the demon babies that are the Pack, with their terrifying speed and sabre-like fingers, as well as the Pukers, whose name pretty much tells you everything you need to know about their power.
Seriously, I don't think at this point it's possible for me to be any more excited about Dead Space 2 than I already am. I've had my collector's edition pre-ordered for over a month now (I just couldn't pass up the chance to own a line cutter), and only have to wait a few more days to pick it up. Be sure to check in all next week as we break out our Dead Space theme week, with blogs, videos, and of course a full review of Dead Space 2 for you.
