A press release sent out from Capcom today has given the details on the bonus that will be made available for gamers who pre-order Lost Planet 2. Opting to eschew the usual early demo access, t-shirt, or action figure, the company has decided to give an in-game bonus. Pre-ordering LP2 from selected retailers (aka - GameStop) will unlock a new playable skin, allowing players to take on the look of Resident Evil villain Albert Wesker. Additionally, pre-ordering from the retail behemoth will also unlock an exclusive weapon, in the form of a revolver, which the press release promises will help players "hone their 'one shot kill' skills".

Personally, I don't usually pre-order a game based solely on a reward from the developer, which in this case is a good thing, because I sure as hell wouldn't pre-order any game just to be given a chance to have an additional character skin. Sure, Wesker is bad-assed, but let's be honest- he's not exactly the kind of iconic game character that will get people lining up around the block for a midnight launch. Then again, I wasn't planning on pre-ordering Lost Planet 2 regardless, so I guess I'm just the wrong audience for this skin.
