Bethesda has announced that Mickey Rourke, Oscar nominee, and friend to the paparazzi, will be lending the lilting tones of his voice to their upcoming, oft-delayed shooter Rogue Warrior. Rourke will provide the voice of the game's main character, Richard “Demo Dick” Marcinko, a real-life Navy SEAL and founder of the elite SEAL Team 6.

Rourke, who is best known for repeatedly punching people in the face at public events, has also apparently been in some movies. Your parents might know him best for his roles in Rumble Fish and Nine and a Half Weeks, while you'd probably remember him as Marv from Sin City and the title role in The Wrestler.

Todd Vaughn, Executive Producer of Rogue Warrior, is happy to have Rourke on board. "Mickey Rourke was our first choice to play Marcinko in Rogue Warrior. He absolutely, one-hundred percent captures Marcinko’s raw and gritty personality."

The game, based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name, is taken from Marchinko's own past military experiences. Playing as “Demo Dick”, you are sent on a clandestine operation to disrupt a suspected North Korean ballistic missile program. Early on in the mission, you uncover a conspiracy and must covertly enter the USSR to destroy a technology that could change the balance of geopolitical power, leaving a trail of destruction in your wake.

Although no date has been announced, the release promised that Rogue Warrior would be on store shelves in the fourth quarter of this year. We'll see.
