If you've been thinking about buying yourself an Xbox 360, or possibly upgrading your existing system to an Elite, Microsoft may have just given you the incentive you were waiting for. In a press release this morning, they announced the Xbox 360 Game of the Year bundle. This brand new package will include an Xbox 360 Elite (with its standard black finish, HDMI port, and 120GB hard drive) along with a copy of both Fable II and Halo 3 for $399. That's the same price as you'd normally pay for the Elite, but with two games tossed in as well.

While I'm not sure this qualifies as a console price cut, it is a pretty good deal. I would probably consider getting one of these bundles, if I hadn't just picked up an Elite last Halloween. Having never played Fable II, I think it would have been a sound investment. Of course I'm also a little angry about this announcement, since if I had just waited a little while longer, I could have gotten two more games for my money. Oh well. Buyer beware and all that.

The Game of the Year bundle will hit store shelves beginning in May, and will only be available for a limited time. Is anyone out there planning to take advantage?
