NBA Jam Coming to 360 and PS3?

German Ratings Board Outs Wii Exclusive as Not So Exclusive

by Sean

Old school (or maybe just old) gamers like myself rejoiced when EA announced that NBA Jam, an acquisition purchased from the now defunct Midway Games, would be getting an new release with current players and improved graphics. That joy was, at least for me, somewhat muted by the further announcement that the game would be exclusive to the Wii. Although I love the idea of a return to the days of boom, shaka, and laka, I'm not terribly excited by the prospect of every game turning into a crazy waggle-fest.  However, according to the German game ratings board website, the game may yet find its way to both the 360 and PS3.

We have reached out to EA for a comment on this, but, as usual, don't really expect to hear anything beyond the normal, "We don't comment on things we haven't said anything about." response. The question now is whether the 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be their own full HD releases, or if they'll be added to the XBLA/PSN. Chances are there will be more on this soon.

In the meantime, enjoy this video of the last NBA Jam game to actually mean anything, the throwdown between myself and Chris, with the winner being forced to abase himself publicly as a wannabe R. Kelly.
