With the calendar reading March, the NCAA's big tournament must be right around the corner. On March 15, 65 teams will be picked to play in the traditional single-elimination contest to crown a new national champion. This year, EA is letting Xbox owners get in on the action in a brand new way.

Beginning on March 11, for a cost of 1200 ($15.00), gamers will be able to download NCAA Basketball '09: March Madness Edition. This will be a completely playable game; not to be confused with add-on DLC for the full NCAA Basketball '09, and will feature 65 teams that you'll be able to try to take all the way to the big dance in Detroit.

From March 11th until Selection Sunday (March 15th), the teams will be the same 65 that were in last year's Tournament. Then, once the official brackets are announced, the game will update with the new teams and rankings. EA promises that each team's style of play, and coaching method, will be accurately re-created in March Madness Edition.

Connor Dougan, the game's producer, had this to say, "“Fans will be able to experience the tournament, feel the adrenaline rush that comes with a single loss elimination tournament and write their own history."

Sorry PS3 owners, EA has no plans to bring this to the PlayStation Store. Anyone out there going to drop the 1200?
