New Mass Effect 2 Trailer Debuts

Prelude to E3

by Sean

Bioware has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming RPG sequel Mass Effect 2, letting the world know what they can expect to see during next month's E3 booth demonstration. Project Director Casey Hudson and Lead Designer Preston Watamaniuk take us through a cursory look at some of the highlights (including low lighting) soon to be streaming out from Los Angeles.

Why don't you just watch for yourself?

It looks like the team over at Bioware are pretty serious about making sure the public understands that Mass Effect 2 is going to be a very different gameplay experience. Improvements to the combat system, better weapon selection, a more intense story, and a more robust AI system are just a few of the features the developer hopes gamers notice during the behind-closed doors demo sessions at E3.

As someone who liked, but didn't really love, the first Mass Effect, there is some promise in this video. Whether or not the game delivers on that promise will be determined in just a few weeks.

I'm having a massive sensory overload just watching and thinking about this game. If they end up doing away with Commander Shepard after all my hard work, and Bioware did state " If you played the first one you will want to keep your saved data" I will sue for emotional let down. No wait, I will first buy Mass Effect 2, play it and enjoy it, then I'll sue them. Yea! that's the ticket!
