Nintendo: No New DS Model at E3
Translation: Definitely New DS Model at E3
by Sean

Last week we reported on the rumors that have been circulating about Nintendo possibly bringing a new DS to the world at this year's E3. All of this speculation was based on Reggie Fils-Amie's statement that the house of Mario would have a major announcement of some kind at the big shindig.
Well, I sure hope your hopes weren't too high for another Nintendo handheld device. According to IGN, Nintendo, while not backing down from the planned big announcement, has denied that it will be a new DS.
Speaking to Japan's Yukan Fuji website, Nintendo Japan's head of PR said, "We cannot comment on the specifics of what will be announced at E3, but at the very least there won't be anything like what [was] suggested, so would like to clearly deny this. We're having a hard time understanding what kind of evidence ... for saying this."
So that's it, right? Case closed. Not quite. How many times have we heard from one manufacturer or another that the latest rumor is untrue, only to find out down the line that they were planning it all along? Whether it's PS3 price drops, 360 price drops, or Nintendo denying characters that eventually showed up in SSBB- all of them have been denied and all have come to fruition. We'll have to just wait and see.
