Penny Arcade Creators Honored by the Washington State Senate

Tycho Brahe and Jonathan "Gabe" Gabriel, respectively) are modern day Renaissance men. They have created one of the most popular (and funniest) webcomics, the thrice-weekly <a href="http://penny-arcade.com/">Penny Arcade</a>. They also are responsible for PAX, the annual gaming convention, which is going into its sixth year and spreading to its second city. And their Child's Play charity has, to date, raised almost $5 million which has been used to buy games for hospitals. While this has been more than enough to make the pair internet famous, mainstream notice has been a long time coming. Until today. A resolution passed in the Washington State Senate yesterday commending Messrs Holkins and Krahulik for their artistic, entrepreneurial, and philanthropic endeavours. The duo hail from Spokane. Here's some of the resolution: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State Senate officially recognize the accomplishments of Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik in becoming widely accepted leaders in the computer and video game industries, encouraging industry growth through scholarships, and advancing Washington State as a hub of the gaming industry through the presence of Penny Arcade Expo; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Washington State Senate honor Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik for their hard work and dedication to improving the lives of hospitalized childrenworldwide through their creation and continued work with Child's Play Charity It's nice to see that the words "video" and "game" can be brought before a legislative body without being met by words like "banned", "censored", or "virtual rape simulator". Jerry and Mike are indeed good guys, and great leaders of their community. This commendation is well deserved. Kudos, fellas! Now get back to drawing funny pictures of robots violating citrus fruits!
