Puzzle Quest Galactrix Dated for XBLA
Those Jumpgates Aren't Going to Hack Themselves!
by Sean

One of my all time favorite games for the DS is Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords; which was the perfect blend of an RPG and a flash game. One of my biggest disappointments in a DS game would have to be Puzzle Quest: Galactrix. D3 seemed to ignore the old adage about not fixing things that aren't broken, and added layer after layer of bad game mechanic, intolerable load times, and boring storyline. Today D3 announced that the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game will be available beginning Wednesday, April 8th.
The press release dating the game promises that the XBLA port of the game will bring "online multiplayer, matchmaking, leaderboards, voice chat and more for a full-spectrum online play experience". While I'm sure this is all well and good, I'm still not convinced that Galactrix is good enough of a gaming experience to warrant the cost. Speaking of cost, although D3 sent out the release annoucing the XBL port, the release did not include a price.
Anyone here looking forward to this?

hmm... i don't know. i love the first puzzle quest but i agree that a lot of the "updates" made for the sequel actually made the gameplay confusing and laborious. i might be willing to spend the money on it if i hadn't invested in the DS version, but as it is i think i'll pass on this download.
