It may be cold and grey outside, but if you take a deep enough breath you can catch a faint whiff of spring on the air. Spring means a lot of things - new life, prom season, and of course, spring training. Starting today, you can start your own spring training by downloading the demo for MLB 2K9 onto your Xbox 360.
The demo features three playable innings in Citizens Bank Park (home of the world champion Philadelphia Phillies) allowing you to play as either the Tampa Bay Devil Rays or the aforementioned World Series winning Philadelphia Phillies, who are the world champions of baseball.
At 800MB you won't need a ton of space to grab this one. Don't worry PS3 fans, you'll be able to get your practice swings in when the demo hits the PSN on Thursday. MLB 2K9 will be on sale on March 3. The Phillies will be champs all season long. Go Phils!

I think you forgot to mention that the Phillies are world fucking champions.
i will give the demo a try but i already have my baseball game picked. The 2k series has been very disappointing in recent years and i don't think will be able to hold a candle to The Show.
here's a hint: it doesn't. hell, it doesn't even hold a poorly drawn picture of a candle to the Show.
All I'll ever remember about 2k baseball is when outfielders would run into the wall, fall on their asses, get up with the same speed as someone in Fight Night, and heave the ball just in time to see the batter cross home plate. And the Ephus pitch. Fantasy softball, anyone? Ah, "Those Were the Days".
man, fantasy softball was pretty bad. good idea in theory, but 2K was just not very helpful in making that happen.
