Resident Evil 5 DLC Delayed
Versus Coming Later than Expected

Mere hours before Resident Evil 5 was due to hit store shelves, it was announced that Capcom would be adding a new multiplayer mode to the final chapter of the beloved franchise. Entitled "Versus", the game mode will allow four players to compete in teams of two in a game of survival. Many may remember that the mode, which really sounds like more of a patch than paid DLC, comes at a price of five bucks.
You can hold onto that money for a little bit longer, as Capcom has let it be known (via their official Japanese site) that the release for "Versus" has been delayed. Originally slated for a March 26th release, the States will now have to wait until April 9th to get their hands on it. That's a full two weeks that your five dollars can accrue some interest for you.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I still find it amazing that Capcom is charging five dollars for what is essentially something that could have and should have been a free patch. With Godfather II, EA has shown that it can be done, so the question still stands as to "why?". Anyone thinking about shelling out the five big ones?

No way. While I agree that it should have been part of the release, I'm not entirely against them releasing this as DLC. It's not like anything that RE has ever had before and I don't feel ripped off without it.
The problem is that this just isn't a very good shooter. Not being able to move while aiming may somewhat work in story mode but it's going to be brutal in versus. If I want to play a competitve shooter, I'll put Killzone 2 in.
I find it interesting that after the fan outcry against this DLC (for pricing and release date reasons), Capcom pushed it back. I wonder if they're going to add something to make it more worth your money, or if they'll just hoping that you will forget that it should have been free.
It's funny how easy it is to drop 60 bucks on a highly anticipated game. But then when someone asks you for 5 more, it's all,
"Waohwoahwoah, 5 dollars!?!? Are you kidding me? This shit should be free! I'm not gonna spend 5 dollars..."
"How about $45 for a Collector's Edition controller"
"Oh, Fuck yes! I'll take 2!!!"
