Retailers List Alan Wake Limited Collector's Edition
UPDATE: Confirmed Release Date and Trailer
by Sean

UPDATE: Kotaku is now reporting from X10 that Alan Wake will be released on May 18th. There is also a trailer for the game, which you can check out below.
The websites of mega-retailers Wal-Mart and Best Buy may have stolen some of X10's intended thunder, as they are both listing a never-before-seen boxed collector's edition of Alan Wake, the upcoming 360/Windows exclusive psychological action game. The Best Buy listing simply has a placeholder image and price point ($79.99), but Wal-Mart has the above image of the game, as well as details on what will be included in the edition.
Hardbound in quality linen, the Limited Collector’s edition is designed to resemble a hardcover book. The Limited Collector's Edition will include:
Game Disc in box with unique art Exclusive In-Game Audio Commentary and Hints by Remedy “The Alan Wake Files” – a 144pg book that includes a short story written by Alan Wake and compiles the FBI dossiers investigating the events in Bright Falls, WA Exclusive Audio Disc with Soundtrack and Score Game Add-on token redeemable on Xbox LIVE for the first Alan Wake add-on content pack Exclusive Xbox disc with special content: Alan Wake Xbox Live Theme and Alan Wake Avatar for Xbox LIVE
The other interesting thing about the two listings is that they both show the same release date for the game, that being May 25th. By comparison, GameStop.com lists the game's release as May 12th, Amazon.com shows the 18th, and the game's Wikipedia entry just has a May 2010 release window. Could this finally be the date that gamers have been waiting for since it was first announced at E3 in 2005? With X10 starting later this afternoon, hopefully we won't have to wait long to find out.
