A new video that showed up on YouTube today claims to show footage from the yet-to-be-announced sequel to Dead Rising. The quality of the video is not great, but one can pretty clearly make out character models that look similar (if not identical) to those from the first game.

While there is reason to suspect that this may in fact be footage of the top-secret Capcom release, there are several factors that point to it being a hoax. First of all, the video has been tagged with the word "fake". Sure, maybe that's an admission by the uploader that it isn't the real deal, but it could just as easily have been put in there to increase search results. The second clue that everything isn't on the up and up is that a lot of the footage in this clip is from the original Dead Rising. But this in and of itself doesn't prove anything, as opening cinematics in sequels will often use footage from their predecessors.

I guess the best way to determine whether or not this is really leaked footage is to wait and see if Capcom demands that the video be taken down. What do you think; real or fake?
