If you're a fan of all things Assassin's Creed, chances are you're just about finished with the first expansion pack to come to ACII, "Battle for Forli". Ubisoft released that content on January 28th, with promises to deliver a second round at some point this month. Today we've learned that the second batch, entitled "Bonfire of the Vanities", will be coming to XBLA and PSN this Thursday the 18th. "Bonfire" will tell the story of Ezio attempting to save the city of Florence from the iron fist grip of the mad monk Savonarola. The DLC, priced at $4.99 for the PSN and 400 for Xbox Live, unlocks ten new memories, several new areas, and gives Ezio a new move: the spring-jump.

Here's the details on the new playable areas:

A must for Assassin’s fans, Assassin’s Creed II Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities continues to expand the addictive AC2 universe. Work with Machiavelli to free the city of Florence from the grip of the mad monk Savonarola by targeting influential citizens under his control. Battle, sneak and free-run your way through more than ten challenging new memories. Discover a new district of Florence, and utilize Ezio’s brand new move: the spring-jump.

Palazzo Medici – Located in Florence, the player gets to explore the house of the Medici family. It is located in the San Marco district of Florence.

Santa Maria dei Frari – Located in Venice, in the San Polo district, the player gets to explore this renowned church built in the XIIIth century.

Arsenal Shipyard – Venice was known for its Arsenal, a shipyard that was settled in the eastern part of the city. The last Templars’ Lair is located there, and lets the player explore the Drydocks.

Ubi dropped a trailer for the new DLC into our laps as well, featuring the ubiquitous over-the-top Italian accents.

So this DLC includes a mission inside Palazzo Medici which was the pre-order bonus from Gamestop. I wonder if they are the same mission (rendering my pre-order bonus null) or if it's actually additional content, which would be sweet as hell.
