Today is the release date for Section 8, the new FPS from SouthPeak Interactive. To celebrate, and possibly to help whet gamers' appetites, the company has unveiled a launch trailer for the game, featuring some space marines jumping out of a low-planetary orbit vehicle and landing on their feet. Yeah. No parachutes were asked for, and none apparently needed. We then get to see some pretty intense (and brightly colored) action going down.

Actually, it looks like with very few exceptions, nothing can really hurt these guys. They survive a 10,000 foot free-fall, dodge every bit of anti-aircraft fire that comes at them, run between the bullets that the enemy shoots, and end up without a scratch. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. This trailer, if it contains actual gameplay or in-engine footage, is actually pretty good looking. I don't know that I need to pick up Section 8 on day one, but it could find its way onto my game shelf.
