Let's say it's January of 2010, and you're looking for something for you and 255 of your closest friends to do on a boring Tuesday night. Chances are you'd normally head over to the local bowling alley and rent every lane. But you forgot that it's league night, and now you're out of luck, and your friends are starting to doubt your planning skills. Not so fast! Sony just announced that MAG, the largest multiplayer console game in history, will be shipping on January 26th of next year. Your night is saved, and now you're the hero.

Also, if you're lucky enough to be in Seattle for the upcoming PAX, Sony has announced a community event in which 256 people will get a chance to play a never-before-seen MAG map. The game's developers will also be on-hand to answer any of your MAG-related questions, but since space is limited, you'll have to act quickly. The spots are going to the first people to RSVP, which you can do through the PlayStation Blog.

With the beta invites going out this week and the game now getting dated, it looks like MAG may in fact become a reality. And not a moment too soon, cause those 255 people were starting to say some really nasty things behind your back.
