Speakers Announced for GameX Industry Summit
The New Show on the Block Brings in Some Heavy Hitters
by Sean

It is entirely possible that you've never heard of the GameX Expo, or its partner the GameX Industry Summit, and you'd be forgiven for that. Coming to Philadelphia in late October, this will be the inaugural year for the convention, which hopes to bring together the worlds of gamers and developers under one rather large roof. The GameX Expo will have a focus on gamers and the games they play, functioning like a standard gaming convention in the vein of PAX or VGXPO. The GameX Industry Summit, on the other hand, will focus more on gaming professionals, providing lectures, panels, roundtables and keynotes for developers and publishers up and down the East Coast.
GameX Expo has already locked down some pretty big names, including Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta, musicians the OneUps, and the professsional gaming team known as the PMS Clan. The Industry Summit today announced its line-up of speakers and sessions, and there will be some big names on-hand.
The Summit's collection of keynote speeches will be given by Chris Foster, Design Director for Harmonix; Clint Hocking, Ubisoft Montreal's Creative Director; Jason Della Rocca, President of Perimeter Partners, and Richard Rouse, Lead Single Player Designer for Kaos Studios/THQ. There will also be speakers on-hand from companies such as CCP, Vicarious Visions, Firaxis Games, Freeverse, and many others.
Speaking to Gamedev.net, Mike Worth, GameX Industry Summit show producer and head of VGI Philadelphia, had this to say about the line-up, "We're thrilled to publicize this fantastic session list. This summit, focusing on high-value industry-to-industry content, was driven through true grass-roots efforts by a combination of IGDA chapters, professional trade organizations, and the passion of professional game developers themselves. The result is a high-value, high-octane set of sessions that showcase some of the unique aspects of East Coast game development, and create a friendly, fun environment for game professionals to learn and grow in their disciplines."
Gamervision will be out in force for both the GameX Expo and the GameX Industry Summit in October, so be sure to check out our coverage. And next week, I will be sitting down for an interview with Worth and his partners at VGI Philadelphia about GameX, and the other projects VGI is working on.

Anything they can do to bring more video games to the east coast I'm all for.
And put VGXPO out of its misery.
And bring Jack Thompson back so I can get him to sign GTA.
Every copy.
Wow, this thing's already ten times the man VGExpo was.
