Street Fighter II Sales Figures Are Rather Impressive
On Track to Shoryuken Sales Records
by Sean

Since its late November debut on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, Capcom's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix has sold 250,000 copies. If you do the math (and I did) that averages out to over 10,000 downloads per day. Nostalgia is proving to be quite a marketable commodity for Capcom this year, as we've already seen with the reception to Mega Man 9, and now this. Of course neither game is hurt by the fact that they are incredibly well made, fun, and more than worth their comparitively low price points.
Over on his blog, John Diamonon, associate product manager, is understandably excited by this news. "HD Remix has shattered both day one and week one sales records and will most likely break 30 day sales records as well. It's on its way to becoming the highest grossing digital title ever."
John is no boastful man, and makes sure to give shout-outs (or is it "shouts-out"?) to the people who made this success possible: you. "Last but not least, I want to give a big shout out to the hard core Street Fighter community. . . who kept this game relevant for the past 15 years and spread the word to the entire gaming industry that Street Fighter is still the 'best around'!"

That's awesome. They really made a great choice in remaking this game. Totally worth my 1200 msp.
very cool stuff, the game was loads of fun playing over at my friends house.
One of the only fighters I'll play. Love those 2-D's!
This game breaks my heart. Do I want achievement points? Or do I want to play it with a controller that works well with the genre? Oh the dilemma of owning every system. I don't even want to think about how much I'll be pulling my hair out to make the same decision with SF4
great news, great game, great classic.
