Street Fighter IV Ships Two Million
Early Figures Pack Quite a
by Sean

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV, the latest incarnation of their classic franchise, has shipped two million units worldwide. This is a rather impressive number considering not only the current economic climate (and who's tired of that phrase yet?) but also that the game has been on sale for less than a week.
Bear in mind, the announcement does not indicate two million games were sold, rather that two million games have shipped. The difference being that shipped is a figure used to calculate retail orders - i.e. stores stocking two million games - as opposed to customers purchasing them. However, shipping numbers are a good indicator that a) people are already buying the game and b) retailers believe that more people will buy the game.
As a fan of the franchise, and of the game, I'm glad to see these figures. While this alone does not constitute an economic turnaround, it does my heart good to write up a positive story about money, rather than one about hundreds of people losing their jobs.
