I have been chomping at the bit to get my hands on a new game for my Wii. Its not that I don't like the games I have, I just want an alternative to the silliness of Wii Sports and the level of dedication required for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I had read some of the previews of Tiger Woods '07 and couldn't wait to see if the physics of swinging would be as great as the promise. I've made no secret of the fact that I am a big fan of Wii Sports Golf, so this seemed like a natural progression.

The game starts right on a practice hole without going to any menu. You get to work out the swing mechanism, club selection, shot type, etc. I quickly grew bored of this and decided to try and start a career.

The character creation mode is complicated to say the least. There are a lot of adjustments to be made, but it is difficult to see what you are doing. For example, I was trying to change the shape of my mouth, but the front view of it looked completely different from the profile. So it was about a half-hour of trial and error before I decided that I just wanted to hit some balls around. So I quit to the main menu and decided to just do the "Play Now" function.

I played as Tiger for two holes. First hole- Eagle. Second- Birdie. Then it was eleven o'clock and time for the Daily Show w/Jon Stewart. So... initial verdict is: great fun, but complicated interface. More on this one later.
