Trailer Debuts for Lord of the Rings: Conquest
The Grey Rain Curtain of this World Rolls Back... And Then You See It...
by Sean
It's hard to believe that it's been almost five years since the last of the Peter Jackson-helmed Lord of the Rings movies was on the big screen. In a lot of ways, it feels like just yesterday we were all on the edges of our seats watching the continuing big-budget adventures of Frodo, Pippin, Gandalf, and the rest. And in some ways it feels like a lifetime ago... Ah memories...
Anyway, you would think that in five years, New Line would have exhausted every possible tie-in angle for a gaming franchise. I mean we have seen the movie tie-ins (Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King) real-time strategy titles (War of the Ring and The Battle for Middle Earth), and even an MMORPG (The Shadows of Angmar). And that's not even getting into all the pen-and-paper RPGs that have come from the franchise.
Yet somehow there seems to still be space in the market for just... one... more... Pandemic Studios, who have previously brought life to Star Wars: Battlefront, are bringing us Lord of the Rings: Conquest, which promises to bring to Jackson's Middle Earth everything that Battlefront brought to the Star Wars Galaxy.
Take a look:
As a voracious absorber of all things Tolkien (a.k.a. Supergeek), I am more than a little excited by this trailer. I can't be sure, but it looks to me like you'll be able to play as not only an Ent, but also as the Balrog. Having had a taste of the power of the Flame of Arnor during the Seige of Gondor, I wouldn't mind weilding a bit of the superiority of Morgoth's most feared forces. But maybe that's just me...

Dude, this rules simply because I can be an Ent, Cave troll, or Ring Wraith.
I am a huge LOTR fan, but it is really just getting raped now...
Just give us a Hobbit movie and be done with it!!!
lmao.....
"Those movies where so fucking boring! 3 movies about people walking. Just walking to a fucking volcano. Those movies where so boring, even the fucking trees walked in that movie!"
"even the fucking trees walked in that movie!"
That's probably the best review I've read about LOTR. Nice.
