Last week we reported that
Blu-ray had scored another victory in the on-going high-def format war against HD-DVD. In case you missed it (or didn't click on that link to remind yourself) the story was that the Target chain of stores would begin carrying only Blu-ray movies beginning with the holiday season. This announcement was seen by many as another stroke on the HD-DVD death certificate.
Turns out they were signing with a pencil, cause someone erased it.
The story was false. It turns out that Target had only agreed to a new promotional deal with Sony and is going to place some aisle end-cap displays of Blu-ray movies.
So rest assured, all four of you with HD-DVD players. You will still be able to get your movies at Target.
