Velvet Assassin to Get the Graphic Novel Treatment
Peter Chung, Meet Violette Summers
by Sean
We got word from Southpeak Games that their upcoming World War II stealth action game Velvet Assassin will be turned into a graphic novel, to be penned by prolific artist Peter Chung. Chung's previous credits include work on the Animatrix and The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, but is probably best known as the creator and director of the hit MTV cartoon Aeon Flux.
The book, which is billed as a "15+ page digital graphic novel" will focus on Violette's early years, and how she came to be involved in undercover espionage. If you're interested in getting your hands on a copy, you should be aware that they'll only be available to those who pre-order the game from GameStop.
The images above and below are the only two that are available so far (click them to see them bigger). It's not hard to tell that these were drawn by the same artist from Aeon Flux.
Velvet Assassin will be out April 14 for PC and the Xbox 360.

I liked both Animatrix and Riddick, but for this Velvet Assassin really doesn't do a lot for me. It looks ok, and the game play and the story is passable. To me it's like a female Assassin's Creed during WWII.
