Wallace and Gromit, the Oscar winning animated duo, will soon be getting a new series of games, to be released in episodic format. Telltale Games, the minds behind previous epidodic games like Sam & Max, Strong Bad, and Bone, will be turning everyone's favorite cheese eaters into playable pixels in Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures.

Details on the game are few and far between. There's no word on price, number of episodes, release dates, nor what systems will be getting the game. Bear in mind that since Telltale is developing, chances are we'll see it on PCs first, with Wii ports to follow somewhere down the line. Personally, I'd like to see Telltale take a page from Hothead (developers of the Penny Arcade game) and release the game on PC, XBLA, and other systems at the same time.

Fans worried that Telltale won't be able to reproduce the look of Wallace and Gromit's whimsical world of clay should put their minds at ease, as the developer has promised that staying true to the source material is of paramount importance. "We're certainly going for the clay look with this," Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors told The Associated Press. "Clay presents a challenge if you really get into the detail of it. For example, adding fingerprints in a medium where there aren't any is one of the discussions of how far we should go with the game's detail."

I will be eagerly awaiting any news of this game, and I'll be on Telltale for details like Wallace on a fine Wenslydale during next month's PAX!
