Warner Games Delays F.E.A.R. 3
Two Months Needed to Complete the Scares
by Sean

The third installment of the F.E.A.R. series, non-cleverly named F.E.A.R. 3, has been listed for some time as having a release date of March 22nd of this year. However, according to a moderator on a fan forum has claimed, and Joystiq has confirmed, that the game isn't going to make that release, and has been delayed. As of right now, the publisher will only say that it will ship the game at some time in May, but has not given a firm release date yet. This marks the first game in the series not to be developed by Monolith Games, with Day 1 Studios at the helm this time around. It's not clear what exactly the reason for the delay is, but it's worth noting that F.E.A.R. 3 marks the first title in the franchise to include a cooperative multiplayer mode. Could it be that Day 1 is experiencing more issues with integrating this feature into the game than they had anticiapted? It's hard to say. What is easy to say, however, is that we'll have to wait an extra two months to see if they've pulled it off with any degree of success.
