What Are You Playing This Week? - 06.09.09
The Waggle is Back
by Sean

As the dust continues to settle from E3, I find myself looking at my game shelves and wondering what I am supposed to be playing between now and the time that all the awesome games that were announced last week come out. It's not that I don't love the games that I have, but I simply have not been able to find the impetus to replay anything that's been sitting around for too long. So in the interest of getting ready for some of the awesome-looking Wii games that were shown last week (Gladiator A.D., The Grinder, and Dead Space Extraction), I have decided to put away the Haterade, bust out the Wiimote and get my waggle on with some Wii games, both new and old.
Last week I got a chance to try out a little Boom Blox Bash Party in the office, and it reminded me how much I loved the original, so I popped the original Boom Blox in on Sunday to make sure I hit gold on all the puzzles. I had forgotten how much of a pain in the ass some of them were, especially the Grab Tool levels, but I got there.
Once that was out of the way, I decided to make up for the lack of a new Zelda announcement by replaying Twilight Princess. This time around my hero is named "Ralphie" and his faithful steed is "ClipClop". I'm only about three hours back into the game, but I'm already remembering how this became one of my all-time favorites.
In between these old favorites, I plan to get some time in on the Wii version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, which I fully intend to buy bundled with the WiiMotion Plus. I have loved the two previous Tiger games on the Wii, with the exception of putting, which has simply been abominable to date. The rumor is that the short game has been fixed for this year's version, and I want the WiiMotion Plus anyway, so this is a natural fit.
There's also a good chance that in between all of this, I will get some time in with my virtual doppelgänger on The Sims 3. I haven't played a Sims game since the original, and I somehow completely forgot how much of a time drain they are. Somehow I set out to complete a simple series of actions, say making waffles and then taking a bath, and somehow look up at the clock and three hours have passed.
Wow, somehow a week where I didn't think I'd have anything to play has turned into a rather busy couple of days for me. What about you? What are you playing this week?

I'm working on getting my Platinum Trophy for inFamous by the end of the week. Then Prototype later today. It's starting to feel like the holiday rush of games to me for some reason.
Ghostbusters next week!
F.E.A.R. 2 and helping the wife with R&C: UYA. Anyone interested in Uncharted 2 Beta? Thanks Sarah and Coop for getting me in.
@TimO: Awesome. I'll never get a platinum. Too much time and energy for me to actually do it :) Pre-congrats though.
tiger wii... mlb the show... devil summoner 2... virtua tennis... um... dragons lair II... uncharted 2 beta... too many games.
Uncharted 2 Beta has been humbling me for a while now, and I bought FF7 yesterday on the PSN so I'm ready to beat that one again.
Sims 3, and I'm super behind on reviews... so Cross Edge, Class of Heroes, and Fuel. And I left Persona 3 FES unfinished when I left for E3, I should probably take care of that.
Infamous, God of war Chains of olympus (again) thats about it i cant stop playing infamous its a amazing game.
inFamous, Final Fantasy VII. That's it this week. No other spare time.
